Tai Chi Fitness

Taijiquan, commonly known as Tai Chi, is a form of martial art that offers numerous health benefits. Although Tai Chi does not directly treat any disease, it can help in curing various health conditions. However, it is important to note that Tai Chi is not a substitute for medical treatment promotes good health and wellbeing.

At JSKS healthcare, we offer the Young Family Yaxuan Style 115 forms Tai Chi, which combines fitness and health cultivation, body building, and soul calming. Tai Chi is an all-in-one exercise that can be used for martial arts, fitness, friendship, game activity (Taiji Push Hands), cultivation activity, and method of enlightenment.

Many people assume that Tai Chi is easy to learn and can be done by simply watching videos or following online tutorials. However, there are certain things that beginners should know before getting started. Tai Chi can be divided into competition forms and traditional forms. Competition forms are more of a gesture Tai Chi or gymnastics Tai Chi and do not adhere to the rules of traditional Tai Chi. Examples of these are the 24 forms, 48 forms, and other simplified routines. On the other hand, traditional Taijiquan is divided into three levels: martial arts fitness, health conditioning, and spiritual enlightenment. It is perfectly unified in the cultivation of essence, Qi, and spirit.

Simplified Tai Chi routines like the 8 forms, 24 forms, and 42 forms competition routines are designed to facilitate easy learning, standardize evaluation, attract audiences, and commercial training. They emphasize higher, faster, and stronger movements, including higher jumps, kicks, and fast strokes. These actions are often performed for the purpose of competition and require significant practice. As a mid aged or senior man, to practice these action may cause hurt for body instead of health.

In contrast, traditional Tai Chi involves listening to the flow of Qi and blood, and emphasizes relaxation, sinking, rounding, and evenly turning. There are no competition rules, and the movements are guided by the individual's internal Qi and intentions.

In summary, competition Tai Chi forms are designed for show and sports purposes, while traditional Tai Chi emphasizes internal Qi cultivation and is designed to promote good health and wellbeing. The choice of which form of Tai Chi to learn and practice ultimately depends on individual preferences and goals. If you're looking to improve your body and soul health, then traditional Tai Chi may be the better choice, whereas if you're looking to win medals and compete, then competition Tai Chi may be more suitable.
